imidecationnme2ph

Latent low-coordinate titanium imides can be generated with the bulky β-diketiminate ligand having tert-butyl in the β-carbons. The example depicted above can be best described as arenium species or Meisenheimer-type complex resulting from arene coordination to a highly electrophlic metal fragment [(Nacnac)Ti=NAr]+. The borate anion B(C6F5)4 is not depicted for the purpose of clarity. For more information about this species: Falguni, B., etal. Chem. Commun. 2005, 2250-2252.
